Nov. 2 Webinar Will Provide Information About COVID Vaccination for 5 to 11-Year-Olds

As states get ready to vaccinate the approximately 28 million 5 to 11-year-olds in the U.S. against COVID-19, there will inevitably be questions about this next phase of pandemic mitigation. The Wheeler School, in collaboration with other local schools, is hosting a Nov. 2 webinar for our parent and guardian community featuring panelists with social-emotional, medical, and analytical expertise.

- Emily Oster, PhD is a Professor of Economics at Brown University and the author of Expecting Better, Cribsheet, and The Family Firm. Her academic work focuses on health economics and statistical methods.
- Dr. Lauren Allister, MD is an emergency medicine physician and Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine, Clinician Educator, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, and Clinician Educator at Brown University.
- Dr. Jennifer F. Friedman, MD, MPH, PhD is Division Director for Pediatric Primary Care Services at Hasbro Children’s Hospital, Director of the Lifespan Center for International Health Research, and Director of General Pediatrics. Dr. Friedman is also a Professor of Pediatrics and Epidemiology at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
- Olivia Moorehead-Slaughter, PhD is a child clinical licensed psychologist with 33 years of experience working with children, adolescents, families, and adults across a range of settings. Dr. Moorehead-Slaughter is the Psychologist at The Park School in Brookline, Massachusetts and a faculty member of the Center for Multicultural Training in Psychology, an APA accredited predoctoral internship program at Boston University School of Medicine and Boston Medical Center.
