A Welcome Back Letter from Director of Athletics Sean Kelly ’02, P’35, P’37

Hi Wheeler Families,
With sports season and the start of the school year right around the corner, I wanted to provide you with a friendly update on where you can find information about fall athletics and some brief updates:
- Upper School families can find information about fall sports in this letter. This marks our second year as members of NEPSAC’s Eastern Independent League where we captured the league championship in Boys Swimming and honored four player of the year recipients in our inaugural year!
- Middle School families (including 5th grade) can find their fall information in this letter.
- Schedules for Upper and Middle School teams are now posted online. (Please note that the Golf schedule will be complete by Friday, Aug. 9).
- The Upper School composite practice/game schedule with early dismissals and bus information can be found in this document. A Middle School schedule will be available closer to the start of school.
- There could still be some minor changes, especially due to bus or official availability, so please continue to check the schedule. Importantly, you can sign up for the NOTIFY ME feature if you’d like to receive game changes.
If you have questions about certain topics, these are the people you should contact:
- Athletic Training – Nate Withington (natewithington@wheelerschool.org)
- PE Requirements and PE Classes — Oscar Zorrilla (oscarzorrilla@wheelerschool.org)
- Rosters (Joining/Switching Sports) — Ben Silvia (bensilvia@wheelerschool.org)
- Transportation (Departures/Arrivals) — Ben Silvia (bensilvia@wheelerschool.org)
- Uniforms – Eric Stein (ericstein@wheelerschool.org)
Lastly, if you’d like to purchase Wheeler gear, you can do so at our Pop-Up Shop. This general store will typically be open the first week of every month during the school year, and that link will be made available through Wheeler Warriors social media and the school’s weekly e-newsletter, “This Week at Wheeler.”
The Athletics Department is looking forward to an enjoyable and exciting schedule this fall!
Best,
Sean Kelly ’02, P’35, P’37
